You are using $_POST but expect step to be passed as a GLOBAL variable.
Change $step to $_POST[`step`] to get this to work.

matthew waygood wrote : 1275
you could also include a BACK button

<form action="<?php echo $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"]; ?>" method="post">
<input name="step" type="hidden" id="step" value="<?php echo ($_POST[`step`]-1); ?>"/>
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Previous -<"/>
</form>

yes he is expecting $step to be a global variable, but what about the chances it works on his end because he has register_globals = on in his php.ini. Generally this is a bad thing to do but yet still so many people do it.
