Cross browser? Not from where I stand! No support for Safari & Mozilla on Mac OS X (rendered as a plain textarea, and whilst the GUI rendered in IE5, I couldn`t do anything in it -- it just froze.

This isn`t cross-browser. It did work in my IE5.5, but not in Mozilla 1.5.
Furthermore it`s copyrighted and the javascript source is encodeded.
A better alternative is htmlArea: it`s open source (BSD-like licence), and the new version 3 is cross-browser:
