In this tutorial we wil create a flash movie to show the News at site. News is stored in a flat data file "News.dat" in HTML format and data will be retrieved in flash movie through "news.php" Start a new movie in flash and save it as "news.fla". Insert new symbol (movie) and give it name "scrollmovie". Draw a text box using text tool. Press CTRL+T and change variable name as "txtscroll". Be sure that you check HTML and Word wrap options. Add a new layer and give it name "actions". Select first frame of layer "actions" , double click the frame to open action code window. Type following code lines .. loadVariables ("news.php", this); // this code use news.php to load variables into flash movie. Keyword "this" is in context of movie "Scrollmovie". Now you need two scroll button. The best way to get them is, open any window, hit "print screen", paste screen in adobe photoshop and cut your scroll buttons from that adobe stuff. Place the buttons and add following code. UpScrollButton ============== on (release) { txtscroll.scroll--;} DownScrollButoon ================ on (release) { txtscroll.scroll++; } Press CTRL+Enter and make "news.swf" Code for "news.php" =================== <? $fp=fopen("news.dat","r"); // points file pointer to news.dat @flock ($fp,2); // locks file print "&txtscroll="; // variable send to "news.swf" while($line=fgets($fp,1024)){ // loop through the file print $line; // printing values to variable "txtscroll" } @flock($fp,3); // unlock the file @fclose($fp); // close the file ?> Upload "news.dat","news.swf","news.php" to your php enabled server and check it out.
