I have been trying with various degrees of success to manually install Apache, PHP and MYSQL [many different versions]. I can get PHP [4.3] running in Apache, however whenever I query the database there is no response and no error from MYSQL. However I can view the contents of the dbase. This is common in XP, Win 2K, ME and 98.

I am not sure whether this is an Apache 1.3.28 or 2 problem or a MYSQL conflict. Although I can install and run Foxserv [Apache 1.3.19, PHP 4.01 etc]- the earlier version v -3 (2000) the more recent versions give the same problem. I`ve also found that PHPTriad queries and responds like a dog through localhost and even worse over a network, therefore Foxserv appears the more responsive...

Can anyone shed any light on compatible versions of Apache, PHP and MySQL that work or any tweaks that I may have to do with MySQL server.
