Abstract
======
This document reviews key insights gained in the Melissa virus incident from a Microsoft
Consulting Services (MCS) viewpoint. The objective is to provide customers, field units, and
product teams with feedback on how to best protect their investment in Microsoft
technologies and to minimize business impact to Microsoft and its customers in similar
scenarios moving forward.
AUDIENCE

This white paper is primarily intended for business managers and IT professionals. Business
managers will find this paper useful in understanding the necessary decisions that need to be
