When replacing a string, it is much faster to use str_replace than ereg_replace.

e.g use
$string = str_replace("_", " ", $string);

instead of

$string = ereg_replace("_", " ", $string);

What if I want to replace an unkown pattern?

Ex:
I want to all occurences of ZZ%ZZ in following text with:

"The price of ZZ1234ZZ is ZZabcdefZZ."

with "learning" and "fun". All I know is that the first ZZ%ZZ is different from second ZZ%ZZ.

Thanks in advance.
